Entry Fee £4, pre-entry by 7th April on FRA entry form to organiser - cheques payable to "Kinder Downfall Fell Race ". No entries on the day. Limit of 300 runners. 3	Hayfied May Queen	Fri 16th May	7:30pm	Fell	AS	3	700	Registration and start are at the Hayfield Scout Hut (GR SK035873) and the course takes in the summit of Lantern Pike. Full race details can be found on the Hayfield Fell Races website.
4	Kentmere Horseshoe	Sun 20th July	1:00pm	Fell	AM	11.9	3300	English Championship counter this year. From Kentmere Village Hall. £4.50 pre-entry by 12 July only. Teams free. ER/LK/NS. Over 18. Records: 1.22.36 S. Bailey 2004; f. 1.42.40 T. Brindley 2004. Refreshments available all day in the Village Hall at a small charge. 5	Famous Grouse	TBC Normally last Sunday in Nov	11:00am	Fell	BS	5.2	1200	A low key but very good fell race from the Grouse pub in Birch Vale. Full race details and previous results on the Hayfield Fell Races website nearer the date.
6	Tankys Trog	Sunday 7th December	9:00am	Fell	AL			The 36th year of Marsden to Edale. Details of last years race are still on the Dark Peak website. The 2008 details will appear nearer the date. Remember this is pre-entry with a strict deadline.
7	Club Orienteering Event	TBC		Fell	OM			Club orienteering / navigation Event. 2hr Score format. Details to be arranged.
8	10k			Road				Any road races at these (officially measured) distances will count with rankings and final points being based on seasons best times.

The Championship Rules

This year we have increased the number of races to 10 in order to give a bigger choice. However, to still reward those who compete in more of the races, the final points totals will be calculated from the best 6 out of the 10 races.

As the main club championship represents an award for the best all round runner in the club, in order to be eligible for a prize, runners must complete at least one fell and one road race from the championship list. Points will be calculated as previous years with 30 points - 1st, 29 points - 2nd ...... (31-n) - nth place. We are also going to do the same as last year and award double points for Tankys, as this really makes the result of the championship very open right up until the final race! Again we will be awarding prizes for 1-2-3 in the Main and Ladies championship and for the winner of the new Handicap championship.

This year there will be no speciffically selected road races as a new idea is to use season’s best times because they are directly comparable. So rankings and final points will be based on seasons best times for 10k, 1/2 marathon and marathon distances (officially measured!). Therefore, if you do a road race, it's important to send me the details otherwise I will not know to include them!

Hopefully you'll agree there is a nice mix in the fell races in this year’s championship. There are 2 long, 2 medium and 2 short and a orienteering type event to test those map reading skills. Also some low key races and one of this years English championship races in the Lake District which will hopefully be a good club day out.
