The championship format this year will be any 4 races to count from 8. Points per race will be awarded as follows:

A fabulous turnout for this short notice club championship race. Rod continued on last years ever improving form, picking up 1st V45 and 5th overall. Kate led home the ladies once again, picking up a handy 2nd prize for her trouble.

10 Apr, Kinder Downfall, AM (10 m / 2500')

Going for a second team prize in a week, a massive turnout from the club for this race. Did anyone know there were so many of us? It makes me want to come out of retirement early. Maybe next time... Good performances from Rod and Bill earned them both prizes in their respective "youth" categories. Rod must also be in good shape for the Hayfield Championship. Another good turn out for a championship race even after a day of what seemed like endless rain, road closures and bad traffic on the way there! A good race as well, a real up and down course. Ian led the Glossop contingent off from the start. For most of the race Rod and Nick vied for the lead, with the final order only being decided in the last 500m. Nev seemed to fare well following a hard weekend doing the SLMM.

Championship race number 5! A smaller turn out from the club for the final instalment of the road races in this years championship. Hot and hilly course seemed to slow a few down this week after last weeks flyer at the Gravy6. But congrats to Rod who I think has now sealed the championship!! Good battle between Helen and Alison right to the line, but this week it was 2-0 for the Holts versus the Roberts'! 334 ran and 1st male was Michael Halman from Wilmslow RC in 32:43 and first lady was Yvonne Wyke from Wigan Phoenix in 39:29.

Perhaps it's a good sign that with 10 harriers in the field, this was considered 'a bit of a poor turnout'. We actually contributed 20% of the field. The vets led the way with new club champion Rod leading Andrew and Craig (new member and possible challenger next year?). Lins beat Ali in the womens race to take their battle to the wire (i.e. Tanky's).
